Mashable: A project intends to relocate more than 1,580 wild animals to three nature reserves.

The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has started a project to transform AlUla into the largest living museum in the world, according to local media.

More than 1,580 wild animals from four different categories—antelope, reem gazelle, Arabian oryx, and mountain ibex—are to be relocated as part of the program at three nature reserves in the AlUla Governorate.

The Royal Commission for AlUla's resettlement campaign is the largest of its kind since it entails analyzing the site's suitability, keeping track of the animals that have been relocated, and putting special emphasis on scientific research and planning for campaigns to relocate animals in AlUla.

A lightweight, solar-powered ungulate collar, a first in the region, will be used by the committee as part of the campaign.

The campaign's objective is to turn AlUla into the largest living museum in the world while preserving its cultural and natural history, and it is in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, the Saudi Green Initiative, and the Middle East Green Initiative.

It is to be noted that the captivating desert landscape of AlUla, where human civilizations have flourished for millennia, is where history, culture, art, and nature all come together. By 2035, AlUla plans to welcome 2 million tourists annually.
