Mashable: Saudi Arabia hits big milestone with historic first-ever fashion week

Saudi Arabia has taken a big step in the world of glamor and fashion brilliance.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has taken a historic step by hosting Riyadh’s first-ever fashion week.

Featuring an amazing showcase by local designers including accessories and jewelry, Saudi Arabia launched the much-anticipated first-ever Riyadh Fashion Week on Friday, October 20, 2023.

The glamorous Riyadh Fashion Week is hosted by the Saudi Fashion Commission. The event commenced on Friday, October 20, 2023, and will end on Monday, October 23, 2023, in the King Abdullah Financial District in the Kingdom’s capital city of Riyadh.

On Friday, Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi opened the much-anticipated event in the Kingdom’s capital outside King Fahad Library marking the start of the debut of Riyadh Fashion Week. His showcase marked the opening of a four-day season with an ambitious drive to make a significant and sustainable fashion industry in Saudi Arabia.

The renowned Mohammed Ashi who is the founder of Ashi Studio, through his show entitled “Eight PM: An Evening in Riyadh” celebrated his roots and the glamor of Saudi Arabia, staging his first-ever fashion show in his hometown.

The event saw many prominent designers participating in Fashion Week including Adnan Akbar, Tima Abid, Yousef Akbar, Honayda, Abadia, and more delivering fashion at its best.

The Somali-American model Halima Aden also walked for Saudi designer Honayda Serafi looking glamorous as always.

The inaugural Riyadh Fashion Week which kicked off on Friday was in line with the Kingdom’s initiative to expand its fashion sector. Highlighting the best fashion scenes, Riyadh Fashion Week hosted several industry leaders, celebrities, influencers, and other VIP guests.
