Saudi Arabia is all set to host this year’s FIFA Club World Cup.

The FIFA Club World Cup will be staged for the first time in the Kingdom.

FIFA recently announced Saudi Arabia as the host of the FIFA Club World Cup 2023.

The next edition of the FIFA Club World Cup is scheduled to take place from December 12 to December 22, 2023.

This will be Saudi Arabia’s first time hosting the coveted competition.

As per Khaleej Times, this decision was made at a FIFA Council meeting which was held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.

FIFA World Cup took to its official Twitter account and wrote, “After a #ClubWC to remember for Al Hilal - having reached the final - the tournament is now coming to them. 12-22 December 2023, the FIFA Club World Cup heads to Saudi Arabia for the first time.”

The Saudi team, Al Hilal recently faced Real Madrid and became the first winner of the AFC Champions League. They are also the first Saudi club to reach the final of the tournament.

The Kingdom will be the sixth host country of the competition since its formation in the year 2000.

This will be the latest chapter of Saudi Arabia’s football development after being confirmed as the host of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. The Kingdom is also on an active bid to host the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup.

The Kingdom has also been reported to be bidding to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup tournament with Egypt and Greece. Other confirmed bidders include Spain, Portugal, and Ukraine.
