Spotify remains one of the most popular music streaming services in the world. Keeping the app's functionality and design up-to-date is a priority for the company, as seen by recent updates to its mini-player UI and work on a music video feature that mimics TikTok. A floating action button (FAB) that allows users to create a new playlist or blend and a swipe-to-queue feature have just begun to appear in testing.

Swipe to queue is an iOS feature that has been around for a long time and makes it simple to add tracks to a Spotify queue with one tap. For a long time, this wasn't possible on the Android app. That is, until recently.

According to Reddit user/Far-Contact-9369, the feature is now available on the Android version of Spotify. Although the feature appears to be rolling out, it isn't active on all Android devices with a Premium account.

It currently seems like the feature is rolling out to a small number of users for testing before it is more widely released. Have you noticed this feature working on Android yet?

On iOS, a swipe from the left on a song in the Spotify app adds it to your queue; on Android, it appears to work similarly.

In the end, it's a small but significant improvement in the user's experience. This is a long-standing fan request, with a thread on the Spotify Community going back to 2015 picking up requests for this feature. When Spotify finally responded to these requests about a year ago, they stated that the feature was not "on our radar."

Additionally, another user points out a recent change to Spotify's user interface, which includes a large new floating button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. By tapping the large plus sign, the user is given the option of creating a playlist or a blend. The latter enables you to create collaborative playlists with friends, a feature introduced by Spotify a few months ago.

Spotify hasn't made an official statement about any of this, but it won't be a surprise if they do so in the future.
