Among countries in the gulf, leading economies Saudi Arabia and the UAE have managed to swiftly integrate high-tech solutions into healthcare as well as public services, thanks to the existence of strong digital infrastructure. Glitch-free internet connectivity, availability of the latest hardware and a welcoming attitude towards innovations like AI and cloud computing, have allowed these two countries to emerge as smart hubs in the Middle East.

But can the digital transition of all sectors could be designed and controlled from a single system?

The answer to this question lies in the TASMU platform. which has been launched by Qatar to catch up with its regional peers, in the race towards the future. The solution will act as a channel for effective communication between businesses in the country and government bodies, so that smart services and applications are created in line with standards set by the Qatari administration.

But that's just the beginning, since this integrated platform ca also collect and analyse data for the state, in order to help policy makers with insights for informed decisions. Coming back to communication, TASMU is also equipped for putting patients in touch with doctors for remote consultations, and will prove to be a shot in the arm for telemedicine in the country.

It doesn't end there, since the system also hosts a virtual community of farmers, which will act as a tool to help out with production planning and selection of crops, alongside disease management. To bolster availability of resources further, TASMU will also provide services for analysing the progress of national food security initiatives through the use of AI.

The entire functioning of this comprehensive digital infrastructure is powered by tech giant Microsoft, through its Azure cloud platform. The authorities are optimistic about the success of TASMU, thanks to 99% internet penetration in the country.

Apart from this, Qatar has also accelerated a push for electric mobility and sped up the development of a smart space within Doha, to keep up with Saudi Arabia and UAE.
