The iconic Sharjah Light Festival is coming back for its 11th consecutive edition and promises even brighter and shinier lightning.

Organised by Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, the Sharjah Light Festival is taking place from February 9 to 20, 2022, promising to bring a kaleidoscope of creative lights and colour across Sharjah’s architecture.

The festival first commenced in 2010, an event rooted in the emirate’s cultural identity and heritage. An integral part of the emirate’s landscape, the Sharjah Light Festival (SLF) has now grown from a small spark, to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors yearly who come to be astonished by the specially composed music, artistic ingenuity and technical skills of the masters who curate the stunning illuminations onto the splendid landmarks of Sharjah.

Amalgamating all the components of beauty, art, culture, education, innovation and higher thinking, the Sharjah Light festival takes visitors on a tour of cultural heights and picturesque scenes.

Many of these designs are poetic and inspired by local culture, stories and traditions or incorporate nature and space, some are based on more modern art and design, all are beautiful and thought-provoking.

Another vital aspect of the festival is that it uses energy-saving lighting technology and all the lights and projectors used have passed certification for environmental compliance.

The highly-anticipated annual event brings creative and innovative light technology and curated music so the iconic landmarks of the emirate, such as Sharjah Mosque, the University City Hall, the Al Majaz Waterfront and among others can literally be seen in a new light.
