Recently, India’s External Affairs Ministry released a list of the top five countries to which the highest number of workers and professionals travel for employment and the UAE is the leading destination for Indians hunting for jobs overseas.
The United Arab Emirates has been ranked first, followed by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the US, and Oman.
The information comes from the data taken from 2016 to 2021 and was presented to the lower house of India’s Parliament by V Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs. However, detailed figures were not available.
Even the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai is set to make Emirates an even more attractive proposition for seeking to make a career in the country. Applications from the field of operations, planning, and communication and across the site have been flooding in from across the world for jobs at the world fair.
While some jobs are to begin as soon as the start of next month, others will start a week before the doors to the Dubai South site open in October. Even recruitment experts and diplomats are looking for people who can engage with visitors from around the globe.
Consular and embassy officials have also repeatedly appealed to workers to use eMigrate, an online portal with details of the registered recruiting agents approved by the Indian government.
The UAE has the largest number of Indian expatriate communities of more than 3.4 million, with the biggest numbers from Kerala in southern India. And now with Expo 2020, more job opportunities are in the pipeline for the ones wanting to work in the UAE.
