There is a quiet revolution of creativity happening in a previously overlooked corner of the MENA region. Jordan’s Memac Ogilvy advertising agency is at the forefront of this, winning a Grand Prix at the Dubai Lynx Festival of Creativity for the second consecutive year. The Dubai Lynx awards, which took place on 14thMarch 2018, are MENA’s most respected creative accolades, due to the rigorous judging process undertaken by an international jury comprised of the industry’s global experts.

Memac Ogilvy Advize was awarded the Grand Prix in the difficult and important Film Craft category for Fear of Flying; a campaign that highlighted racial discrimination and was created for the airline Royal Jordanian. The winning film puts a voice to the often silent discrimination happening in the skies, following the travel ban by the United States Trump administration and amidst growing Islamophobia around the world.

Mohammad Kamal, MD and Creative Director, Memac Ogilvy Advize commented on the win, “Royal Jordanian took a stand on a subject that is taboo. Very few brands are bold enough to do this and I hope that RJ can stay at the forefront of creativity for years to come. He added, “I am immensely proud of everyone involved in this campaign. Jordan is finally on the map as a burgeoning creative hub: we’ve proved there is huge talent in the Kingdom and I’m confident that these wins will open doors for future stars to shine.”

The agency also brought home a further two awards for Fear of Flying, a silver in the Film category for Corporate Social Responsibility and a bronze for Direction in the Film Craft category. The win follows on from Memac Ogilvy Jordan’s awards haul at the 2017 Dubai Lynx awards as well as their prestigious Bronze win at the 2017 Cannes Lions.
