‘Travel and Connectivity Week’ at Expo 2020 Dubai to discuss travel and its new future

Starting January 11, the expo will host a Travel and Connectivity Business Forum wherein various travel topics will be discussed.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travel and international trade took a toll all over the world. But how are societies engaging and building upon new approaches to mobilise in a world forever changed during one of the most turbulent periods in modern history?

Thus, Expo 2020 Dubai, is tapping on the topic, especially with the event having one of its subthemes ‘Mobility.’ It is an essential area in building a better world, creating the more efficient and effective movement of people, goods, and ideas, both physically and virtually.

Expo 2020 Dubai is, hence hosting a Travel and Connectivity Week, wherein throughout the week there are going to be a number of interesting sessions, convening leading industry figures, innovators and policymakers to explore travel, digitalisation and connectivity as a universal human right and force for good in a changing world.

Starting January 11, the expo will host a Travel and Connectivity Business Forum wherein the topic of Opportunities for Tomorrow Part I: Strategies for Sustainable Tourism will be covered and Opportunities for Tomorrow Part II: Strategies for Sustainable Tourism.

Another highlight of the week is the event ‘Off the Beaten Path: Travel in the 21st Century which will take place on January 13. The event will include speakers Mr Dipak Deva, Co-Chairman, FICCI Tourism Committee and Managing Director, Rogers Valencia, Minister of Culture and Minister of Tourism in Perú, Issam Kazim, CEO, Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing and Professor Anne Hardy, Associate Professor, Cultural and Heritage Tourism, University of Tasmania.

The event is set to take place at Dubai Exhibition Centre and also virtually on the Expo’s website.
