Mashable: WhatsApp has recently introduced a new feature that allows users to pin messages in their chats.

WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, has recently introduced a new feature that allows users to pin messages in their chats. This includes various types of content such as text, polls, images, and emojis. However, it is important to note that you can only pin one message at a time in a chat. This feature has already begun to be made available to users.

By utilizing pinned messages, you can conveniently emphasize and bring attention to important messages within both group and individual chats.

WhatsApp stated that this feature aids in saving users' time by enabling them to locate timely messages effortlessly. All message formats, including text, polls, images, emojis, and more, can be pinned and are protected by end-to-end encryption.

To pin a message, simply press and hold on the message, then choose the option 'Pin' from the context menu.

A selection banner will be displayed to choose the duration of the pinned message, which includes options for 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days.

The company stated that Seven Days is the default option, and in a group chat, admins can choose whether all members or only admins have the ability to pin a message.

Telegram and iMessage have already implemented a feature that enables users to pin messages in both individual and group chats.

Recently, WhatsApp introduced a new functionality called disappearing voice messages, which enables users to send voice messages that can only be listened to once before they vanish.

This feature is akin to the "View Once" option for photos and videos that was introduced in 2021, providing an additional level of privacy to your messages.
