It has recently come to light that WhatsApp will soon allow users to export and import chats between Android and iOS devices. In case you aren’t aware already, exporting and importing chat history from iOS to Android isn’t possible. This new feature will help users seamlessly switch between the two platforms without needing to rely on a third-party app.
The feature was first spotted by WABetaInfo, a popular website that pushes regular updates around new features on the instant messaging platform. The new chat migration tool will allow WhatsApp to move your chat history between iOS and Android. Currently, the feature is in the works and will be released for users in future updates for iOS and Android.
When it comes to WhatsApp iOS, the instant messaging app is working on the export process and in the case of WhatsApp Android, WhatsApp is working on the chat import process. Currently, WhatsApp users have to use third-party apps or pay to migrate chats between the two platforms. WABetaInfo states that once the feature to export user chats from iOS to migrate to Android is completed, they will start working on the chat history export feature for Android.
