The festival, this year is hosting a series of recreational, educational, and cultural events for people of all age groups.
One of the prominent festivals of the UAE, the Sheikh Zayed Festival is back, which opened its doors to the public on November 18, 2021. The event that is taking place at the Al Wathba region of Abu Dhabi will be on till April 1, 2022.
The festival, this year is hosting a series of recreational, educational, and cultural events for people of all age groups who will be enthralled by many folkloric performances, cultural experiences, and typical products.
Featuring 21 international traditional neighbourhoods, the festival will showcase shows and performances, attracting more than 22,500 participants, entertainers, and exhibitors from all over the world.
The carnival will see over 4,500 international cultural events with more than 650 performances and major celebratory events taking place along with 130 workshops for children in various creativity segments.
This year the festival also integrates with the Year of the 50th celebration and it is going to have a ‘Year of the 50th Zone,’ that will host a series of events to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Federation’s founding. It will showcase UAE’s incredible journey over the past 50 years, emphasising the role of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in the nation’s development.
The festival will host weekly fireworks displays, evening activities, Arabian horse shows, the Miracle Garden, and a military marching band playing traditional music that roams around the Festival pavilions at various times.
Additionally, to celebrate the UAE’s 50th National Day, the Festival has dedicated December 2, 2021, as a day to mark this special occasion with events and surprises for the visitors.
