Uninterrupted connectivity paired with communication tools and gadgets in the UAE, has been able to build a smart ecosystem where healthcare, transport, work and play are enhanced by digital services. Although a strong tech infrastructure makes everyday life easier for people in the Emirates, safety in public and private spaces remains a priority for residents.
High-tech surveillance started creating a buzz in the UAE with introduction of measures like facial recognition on public transport, and drones to nab criminals. As local authorities continue to explore security solutions, global tech firm Bosch has scaled up its offering in the space with cameras that collects footage from multiple directions.
The multi-imaging device is backed by 12 to 20 megapixel precision, and covers all bases to paint a comprehensive picture, for safeguarding people in public spaces. Designed for evolving smart cities, Bosch's system has built-in AI, which warns users about possible threats in advance.
The device has four image sensors that can be installed as one unit and have the flexibility to provide a 360 degree view of the premises. Operated from a unified video management platform, the camera tackles shadows and shaky footage, to identify individuals by their facial features from a distance of 130 metres.
Thanks to capabilities for smart analysis of visual information, the Flexidome multi 7000i provides insights which can prepare businesses for unforeseen events. The system is designed for maintenance along with safety of consumers at retail outlets.
Moving beyond security, entrepreneurs can also use the camera for collecting information on the number of visitors and products preferred by customers. This data can be processed via machine learning, to generate recommendations which can be applied for attracting consumers to malls and stores.
This predictive edge is similar to an Emirati mall's initiative to provide algorithm-based support for retailers, which helped them counter e-commerce platforms that collect info from social media.
