Xbox Cloud Gaming is now supported on the Steam Deck, although the process requires installing the Microsoft Edge web browser.
In February, Valve began delivering its Steam Deck portable gaming system, which is essentially a Linux-powered gaming PC in a Nintendo Switch body factor. As of right now, it's supported by Microsoft across the vast majority of Xbox Game Studios titles accessible on Steam, at least those that don't feature competitive multiplayer modes.
According to XDA, Xbox Cloud Gaming is now supported on the Steam Deck, although the process requires installing the Microsoft Edge web browser.
Using an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and Microsoft's support article and Reddit thread, you can play cloud Xbox games on the Steam Deck. Microsoft Edge can be installed on Linux desktops and a shortcut can be added to the Steam interface by following these steps: The shortcut can also be customized to match your Steam games with custom artwork created by Microsoft.
Perhaps in the future, Microsoft will make it easier to install Edge on the Steam Deck by allowing it to be downloaded via the Microsoft Store. Using the system drivers recently released by Valve, Xbox Cloud Gaming works perfectly on Windows 10 installed on the Steam Deck.
Microsoft is aggressively expanding the availability of Xbox Cloud Gaming on other platforms. The feature, which was first introduced on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles in November, allows gamers to rapidly try out Xbox games without having to download them to their console. Some Xbox titles, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, are only available on Cloud Gaming or the latest Xbox Series X/S consoles
