Dubai has established a new committee to carry out its plan to develop into a major worldwide center for cutting-edge technology.

The Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will serve as chairman of the Higher Committee for Future Technology and the Digital Economy.

According to a statement on WAM, the move strengthens Dubai's position as "a leading worldwide center for inventive new concepts and disruptive economic and technical models."

The new committee's duties include developing regulations and researching emerging trends in the digital economy and cutting-edge technologies like the metaverse, AI, blockchain, Web3, and other cutting-edge ideas.

The Dubai crown prince stated, "In line with the Dubai Metaverse Strategy, we are working as a team to increase Dubai's position as a global birthplace and research laboratory for future innovations, as well as one of the top 10 metaverse economies.

The newly formed committee, which has been introduced in the wake of the Dubai Metaverse Strategy, will also look into upcoming skills requirements for the digital industries.

Additionally, it will launch initiatives to draw foreign corporations and conferences with a focus on emerging technology and the digital economy.

The Dubai Metaverse Strategy, which was also led by Sheikh Hamdan, was introduced to draw more than 1,000 businesses involved in blockchain and metaverse. By 2030, the initiative also hopes to provide more than 40,000 new jobs to the agricultural sector.
