The most awaited event of the UAE—the Expo 2020 Dubai is around the corner and the county is all geared to welcome world nations. As the days get closer, the Expo has been revealing new programmes to build excitement among visitors.
The Expo now reveals its calendar for Programme for People and Planet—a schedule of events, experiences, thought-leadership, and public conversations that aims to find solutions for some of the most pressing problems facing our world.
The platform will allow free and open exchange of new ideas and innovations that have been designed to help reimagine the global economy, place equality, universal respect, and human dignity at the center of human progress, and implant a sense of responsibility to live in harmony and balance with the natural world.
The Programme for People and Planet will run across the entire six months of Expo 2020, anchored by 10 Theme Weeks and 18 International Days, each of which explores key issues of global significance.
Divided into five categories —Build Bridges, Leave No One Behind, Live in Balance, Thrive Together and UAE Vision 2071, the programme will explore challenges through a cultural, social, environmental, and economic lens.
From large forums and public conventions to seminars and workshops, over 220 events will take place as part of the programme. Expo 2020’s signature platform for connecting minds, the World Majlis series will play a prominent role, with 53 individual sessions set to engage visitors over the course of the six months.
The Programme for People and Planet will bring together an array of perspectives, advancing exchanges of impactful ideas between leading experts like wildlife advocate Dame Jane Goodall, Eden Project founder Sir Tim Smit, and Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri, UAE Minister of State for Advanced Technology, and the woman behind the Emirates Mars Mission.
Expo 2020 Dubai is set to take place from October 1 to March 31, 2022, with tickets starting from Dhs95 for one day, multi-day passes offering entry for 30 consecutive days for Dhs195, and season passes with unlimited entry for six months for Dhs495.
