Mashable: The clip was so pixelated, users couldn't tell if it was the Tesla mogul or a retro game character.
In classic 8-bit fashion, Elon Musk, the tech genius behind companies like Tesla, SpaceX, and Neuralink, never shies away from trying out new things. His latest venture involves testing Twitter's livestreaming feature, and he decided to share his experience with his 140 million Twitter followers in a low-resolution video that has since been dubbed "8-Bit Elon."

The video shows Musk livestreaming from Twitter's headquarters in San Francisco, with a Twitter staffer standing nearby. In the clip, Musk can be seen testing out Twitter's livestreaming feature, which he explains is aimed at identifying areas for improvement. He seems to be enjoying himself, laughing and smiling as he explores the platform's capabilities.

The clip was so pixelated, users couldn't tell if it was the Tesla mogul or a retro game character. Dubbed "8-Bit Elon" by amused Twitterati, Musk laughed and smiled as he put Twitter's livestreaming feature to the test.
A nearby Twitter employee informed him that the feature was powered by the same outdated code from Periscope, the now-defunct live video streaming app. "It basically works," Musk shrugged. "We're just testing it out to see if we can improve the resolution. You know, so it doesn't look like a Minecraft livestream from 2011." With over 27,000 viewers tuning in to watch him, Musk sent a quick greeting to his fans. Will the billionaire tech titan eventually upgrade his livestream setup? Only time will tell.
