As part of the Innovate initiative, organized by Masdar City, Exelx, a leading company in the field of development and research in battery inspection and maintenance technologies, participated in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week and showcased its latest technologies and solutions for extending used battery lifetime.
The CEO of the Company, Mr. Ghassan Alasad, confirmed that Exelx participation in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week where the industry saw the launch of new technology from the UAE, in line with the country's growing interest in nurturing entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs, especially in the fields of clean energy and environmental protection for a sustainable future.
"We are proud of the unique solutions and technologies offered by our company at the global level, thanks to the efforts of our Jordanian and Arab engineers who contributed to the development of this technology in collaboration with our partners in Japan. The new technology will benefit the local and global markets that we intend to Enter in the near future," Alasad said.
During the three-day exhibition, Dr. Ali Al-Zyoud, Head of Engineering Research and Development at Exelx, participated in a specialized panel discussion on innovation in clean energy, during which he built upon the Company’s role in bringing new technology to increase the battery life through new technologies that were developed by joint Japanese and Jordanian efforts to achieve environmental and economic sustainability for battery end users.
Speaking about the importance of supporting innovation in the region and its young talents who can make developmental contributions in multiple sectors, including clean energy sector, Dr. Ali highlighted Exelx’s journey of assembling a research team from the MENA region that was able to create effective solutions to an environmentally aggravating problem: Used Batteries. "Replacing used batteries leads to an environmental problem that may worsen in the future. The amount of waste generated from used batteries is expected to reach more than 116 million tons by 2030, causing adverse environmental impacts on water and soil resources."
Dr. Ali noted that the pivotal role of Excel X lies in studying the reality of the market and other environmental problems, as well as its continuous work to develop the technologies of the Japanese company, Battery Bank Systems, and introducing them to the markets in the Middle East and global markets.
Exelx is a startup company that has been conducting research and studies to develop new technology over a period of five years in the electric energy storage sector, both in the Jordanian capital, Amman, and in Masdar City in Abu Dhabi. It also provides services for inspecting and maintaining batteries of all kinds, including hybrid and electric vehicles, telecommunication towers, electric hoists, and storage batteries for renewable energy systems.
