The latest version of its Google Nest Mini smart speaker is launched in Brazil with plans to start selling it in major online and retail shops in the country .This launch has significance as Amazon .com had introduced its Alexa virtual assistant to Brazilian customers, with three different gadgets available.
Google priced its Nest Mini device with Google Virtual Assistant integrated at 349 reais ($85) in Brazil.
Google has chosen local retailers and online chains to sell this gadget .To withstand a tough competition from Amazon, Google plans to bring more products and services to Brazil .
Vinicius Dib, head of partnerships in devices for Google in Brazil said to Reuters that the company sees Brazil as one of the potential countries to bring in their products. Amazon has already established their services in the country.
Citing data from IHS Markit, the company said the global market for smart speakers is expected to grow by four times by 2023, reaching over $30 billion. The launch of Nest Mini will see a competition from both Amazon and Google Both the tech giants are already into cloud computing services in Brazil
