Mashable: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has imposed fines for violation of Hajj rules in 2024.

According to the Khaleej Times, Saudi has announced fines for violating Hajj rules for the year 1445 AH-2024.

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, the Saudi Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed that a fine would be imposed on all citizens, residents, as well as visitors caught within the specified geographical areas without a Hajj permit.

A fine of 10,000 Saudi Riyals (nearly Dh 9,800) has been imposed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for violations of Hajj rules and regulations for the year 1445 AH-2024. The fine is said to be effective from June 2, 2024, till June 20, 2024.

According to the country’s Ministry of Interiorfines will be imposed on citizens as well as visitors who are caught without a permit to perform Hajj in the following places:

The Saudi Ministry of Interior has also said that those residing in non-designated areas without permits will be deported to their home country.

Meanwhile, the fine imposed on violators of 10,000 riyals, will be doubled if they are caught repeating it.

The issuance of visas for Hajj 2024 began on March 1 this year and was closed on April 29. Pilgrims will start to arrive in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on May 9, 2024.

Hajj is expected to begin on June 14, 2024. However, the date is subject to change depending on an official announcement by the moon sighting committee of Saudi Arabia in the days leading up to the holy pilgrimage.
