His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai approves the ‘Hatta Master Development Plan’.

One of the upcoming tourism destinations in the UAE, Hatta gets a development nod from the authorities as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai approves the ‘Hatta Master Development Plan’.

The Development Plan which is a part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan was launched earlier this year. The Hatta Master Development Plan will enhance infrastructure and implement a number of projects and initiatives across the emirate over the next 20 years.

To transform Hatta into an attractive local and international destination for business, investment and tourism, the plan will create a roadmap for enhancing infrastructure and implementing a series of development projects.

Stating the four key strategic pillars being covered under the development— Wellbeing, Tourism, Sports & Activities and Sustainability, Sheikh Mohammed said, “We are steadfast in our resolve to further transform our growth and prospects with our new development drive. With determination, nothing is impossible. The emirate is committed to using its resources to enhance the prosperity of our nation and its citizens. Development projects in Hatta are progressing rapidly as part of a plan to enhance economic and social growth, strengthen environmental sustainability, and raise the living standards and wellbeing of the people of the area.”

He also visited the Hatta site and explained the project will be implemented as part of a five-year development plan in the initial stage.

The Hatta Beach project, specified by the Ruler of Dubai aims transform the area into a year-round tourist destination. The project will create investment spaces and facilities plus activities for tourists in waterfront areas that will contribute to increasing tourist flows into Hatta.

He also approved the Supreme Committee that will oversee the development plans and implementation.

Keeping in consideration Dubai’s sustainability goals, the Committee will develop plans to conserve Hatta’s environment, its mountainous ecosystem, and its cultural heritage. A mountainside health resort will also be built with opportunities for guests to practice sports and activities that are suitable to Hatta’s terrain.
