Mashable: Team UAE beat host Malaysia in the qualifying tournament on Monday
The UAE team went for their third straight win in the Asian qualifiers on Monday. The team beat Malaysia in ICC Under 19 Women’s T20 World Cup qualifying tournament.
UAE previously beat Nepal and Bhutan in their first two games. The team beat the host country Malaysia by nine wickets on Monday.
After getting on to the field, the UAE team restricted Malaysia to a 33 all out. UAE player Mahika Gaur played very well and destroyed the Malaysian top-order with her bowling tricks.
The whole Malaysian innings lasted for only nine overs. Other UAE bowlers who took Malaysian players' wicket includes Samaira Dharnidharkar, Siya Gokhale, and Vaishnave Mahesh.
The UAE team players Lavanya Keny, Theertha Satish, and Dhanidharka helped the team to reach the winning target in just four overs.
On Monday, the other two matches took place between Nepal - Bhutan, and Thailand - Qatar. Nepal beat Bhutan by four wickets, while Thailand defeated Qatar by 69 overs.
The ICC Under 19 T20 Women’s World Cup is set to be held in South Africa next year. Only the top team from this qualifying tournament will get to play in the World Cup.
UAE will have their next game against Qatar on Tuesday. If UAE wins on Tuesday, they will be playing the qualifying match against their biggest competitor Thailand on Thursday.
Both of the teams, UAE and Thailand have earned six points each from their first three games but UAE has a Net Run Rate of 8.352 and is currently leading second-placed Thailand which has a Net Run Rate of 4.7333 in the points table.
