‘Take a Break' was initially released in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, and is now accessible worldwide.
The absence of disease or illness isn't the only indicator of happiness. It's a complicated mix of physical, mental, emotional, and social aspects that affect a person's health. Happiness and life satisfaction are significantly connected to well-being. In a nutshell, well-being is the way you feel about yourself and your life which is why it is imperative that one takes care of one's physical and mental well-being.
And in a bid to foster the idea, Meta-owned Instagram announced the 'Take a Break' feature on Friday in all countries, including India, to enable young people better manage their Instagram experience.
People who have been scrolling for a particular period of time will see a feature called 'Take a Break.' In a statement, Natasha Jog, Public Policy Manager, Instagram, Facebook India, stated, "The welfare of young people is essential to us, and we're focused on ensuring that time spent on Instagram is deliberate and people feel good about it." "In this context, we've created 'Take a Break,' which will help young people, parents, and guardians have a better Instagram experience," she continued.
According to reports, users will be encouraged to take a break from Instagram, with the suggestion that they create reminders for future breaks. They will also be given expert-approved advice on how to reflect and reset. Young people will be offered messages proposing that they switch on these reminders to ensure that they are aware of the function.
"We want to keep working to make Instagram a safe and friendly place for young people to explore their interests and connect with others," Jog added.
The 'Take a Break' reminders complement Instagram's current time management features, such as Daily Limit, which notifies users when they have spent the maximum amount of time on Instagram for the day and allows users to silence Instagram alerts.
'Take a Break' was initially released in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, and is now accessible worldwide. The 'Take a Break' function will be accessible on iOS right away, and Android will follow in a few weeks.
