It's one of the most popular apps in the world, but it seems that Instagram has crashed for users around the world.

DownDetector has had hundreds of reports of issues, which appear to have started at around 13:00 BST.

While the reason for the crash remains unclear, 61 per cent of people logged issues with the News feed, 23 per cent said the problem was with logging in, and 14 per cent said they were having issues with the website.

The app appears to have crashed for users around, with reports from the UK, US, Australia, Malaysia and Japan to name a few.

Several people have taken to Twitter to joke about the crash.

Aizaa tweeted: "When Instagram is down you have to check Twitter to see ur not the only one with that problem."

Laura Barrera said: "Apparently Instagram is down. I predict prodcutivity is going to skyrocket today."

And Shane joked: "QUICK! WHAT ARE YOU EATING?! QUICK WHAT ARE YOU EATING???"

Instagram is yet to comment on the issue.
