The digital transition during that period of stagnation and the new normal that followed, also encouraged digital entrepreneurship among the young talent in countries like UAE and Saudi Arabia, which further scaled up the demand for courses that could polish capabilities to handle online tools.

In order to make sure that people in diverse field could find jobs, platforms have been launched where workshops are conducted for professionals or newbies, after which participants gain access to knowhow shared by mentors. One such portal developed in Kuwait, which offers skill-based learning for jobs that require tech skills or to boost online business activity, is now set for an expansion into Saudi Arabia where development plans are likely to unlock several employment opportunities.

The edtech platform Dawrat, which focuses beyond schoolkids to enhance capabilities of working people in the kingdom, has introduced 10,000 courses that focus on teaching specific skills for every sector. Courses available in Arabic are accompanied by a mechanism for seamlessly finding training material, so that time and effort required to look up content can be cut down for higher efficiency. As for challenges in the region, the lack of recognition for online courses that impart essential skills, remains a hurdle for online education platforms like Dawrat.
