The race for artificial intelligence appears to be heating up. Google recently debuted Bard, an experimental conversational AI service based on its Language Model for Dialogue Applications (or LaMDA for short). Now, According to recent reports, the upcoming Bing search engine will be integrated with ChatGPT. Just minutes after Google's announment Microsoft has announced a new launch event with OpenAI. Google will also hold a launch event on February 8th, where it will most likely showcase its new AI-powered search engine and its capabilities.
Microsoft is holding an event at its Redmond, California, headquarters at 10 a.m. PT, 1 p.m. ET, or 11:30 p.m. IST, where it is expected to announce a number of new services that incorporate OpenAI's ChaGPT. The launch of ChatGPT-powered Bing, which will compete with Alphabet's Google search engine, could be the highlight of the event.
The invitation states that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella will "share some progress on a few exciting projects," according to The Verge. This event will likely feature a number of announcements from both Microsoft and OpenAI. These could include OpenAI naming Microsoft as its sole cloud provider, the integration of ChatGPT with Bing, and other developments. It has also been speculated that OpenAI, at the event, will announce its next-generation ChatGPT 4 that will be made available only on Bing.
In addition to launching a search engine powered by OpenAI, Microsoft is rumoured to be integrating ChatGPT into its other services, such as Office 365, Teams, and Outlook. Many of Microsoft's services are likely to benefit from the AI services that OpenAI is developing in the near future.
