Mashable: The spatial audio provides a rich, cinematic sound experience on any device without the need for additional equipment.

For all the high-fidelity audio lovers out there, Netflix is adding spatial audio support to its Premium plan. As of today, spatial audio is accessible on more than 700 titles, including popular ones such as Stranger Things, Wednesday, and Knives Out Glass Onion, and more. Netflix is introducing a "spatial audio" icon so that customers can readily identify which films and television programs support the tech.

Netflix spatial audio provides a rich, cinematic sound experience on any device without the need for additional equipment. Netflix's Premium plan already provides access to enhanced Dolby Atmos audio (on compatible hardware) as well as 4K resolution and HDR/Dolby Vision on TVs and monitors that are capable of displaying these features.

One other thing that's new with the Netflix Premium plan today: you may now download shows and movies on up to six devices at once (previously four). With a Netflix Premium account, you may stream video on up to four devices simultaneously.

After introducing its cheapest Basic with Ads plan last fall, it's encouraging to see Netflix introducing new features to its Premium plan. If competing streaming services, such as Disney+ or Apple TV+, do not restrict 4K resolution or HDR to a premium tier, Netflix expects support for spatial audio on all speakers to convince more users to upgrade.

Netflix has also begun outlining how it plans to limit password sharing. The company will use IP addresses, device IDs, and account activity to identify devices within a household, and it will compel non-household members to periodically authenticate their gadgets.
