UAE’s architectural landmarks have welcomed the Museum of the Future with stunning futuristic light projections.
Taking a step into the future in a massive architectural manner, Dubai on Tuesday welcomed its latest iconic landmark— Museum of the Future on the unforgettable night of 22.02.2022.
Labelled as the ‘most beautiful building on earth’, the Museum of the Future was illuminated with stunning futuristic light projections, as it had its grand opening in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, along with Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
The iconic landmark was inaugurated amidst the fanfare of grand ceremony, which was a work of art in itself as the exterior façade shined with lighting.
“The Museum of the Future is a message of hope, a global scientific platform, and an integrated institutional framework to shape a better future for all of us,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said during the opening ceremony, adding, “It embodies the active human imagination, and the Emirati will that continues to excel the world. The Museum will be a forum for great minds, scientists, thinkers and experts from around the world.”
The opening of the Museum of the Future also saw other architectural landmarks of the UAE welcome the museum in their own style.
The world’s tallest tower, Burj Khalifa, welcomed it with a special show featuring Arabic calligraphy reflecting the Museum of the Future’s exterior, whereas Expo 2020 Dubai's centrepiece, Al Wasl Dome, showcased a special projection to mark the coming opening.
The 75-storey corporate headquarters of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company also displayed the same message along with the iconic date 22-02-22. The Burj Al Arab also welcomed the museum in the same manner, with the palindrome date displayed on the building.
Designed by Shaun Killa, partner at Killa Design, the Museum of the Future spans across 30,000 square metres, with a seven-storey pillarless structure standing 77 metres tall.
The Arabic calligraphy has been designed by Bin Lahej, based on the poetry of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, about his vision for the city’s future which translates to ‘The future belongs to those who can imagine it, design it and execute it. It isn’t something you await, but rather create.’
