Mashable: This summer has brought good news for Princess Rajwa of Jordan and Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II. The royal couple welcomed their first child - a baby girl on Saturday, August 3. The official announcement of the newborn’s birth was made by the Royal Hashemite Court on social media alongside a heartwarming video. The Crown Prince lovingly embraces his daughter in the footage as the little munchkin appears fast asleep.

“Their Royal Highnesses are immensely overjoyed and thankful on welcoming their firstborn, and call on well-wishers to consider donating to Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans in lieu of sending gifts or flowers,” reads the statement. The little munchkin is named Iman after the Crown Prince’s sister and her aunt.

In a subsequent glimpse of the newborn, shared on the Crown Prince’s official Instagram account, Hussein expressed gratitude toward those sending kind wishes across the royal couple’s way. He noted, “Praise be to God for His abundant blessings. We are immensely grateful for the safe birth of our daughter and the health of my beloved wife, Rajwa. Our heartfelt thanks to our family and the Jordanian people for their kind wishes, which deeply touched us during these special moments.”

The Crown Prince serves as a captain in the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army while Princess Rajwa from Saudi Arabia graduated in architecture from Syracuse University in New York. She also holds a professional degree in visual communications from the Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.

Hussien and Rajwa tied the knot in June 2023 in a lavish wedding ceremony in Amman, attended by prominent royals from all over the world including Prince William and Kate Middleton. The baby girl is the first grandchild of Crown Prince’s parents King Abdullah and Queen Rania.
