His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued an Emiri Decree appointing the Chairman of Sharjah Media Council.

Emiri Decree Number (7) of year 2017 appoints Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, as the Chairman of Sharjah Media Council.

About His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi:

• Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre; Member of the Sharjah Executive Council, UAE.
• His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Arkansas State University in Arkansas, U.S.A. and a Master of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems from University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan, U.S.A. 
• His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi has become a member of the Sharjah Executive Council since 2006.

His key achievements in the media sector include:

• Establishing and restructuring Sharjah Media Corporation in 2009 and placing Sharjah TV, Sharjah Radio, Sharjah Sports Channel and Sharjah Media Training Centre under its umbrella.
• Launching the International Government Communication Forum in 2011
