Mashable: Neymar has cleared his stance on joining Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi

Neymar has completed a high-profile transfer to Saudi side Al Hilal from Paris Saint Germain.

The Brazilian player has joined the Saudi Pro League club from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for €90 million.

Following his transfer to Saudi Arabia, the PSG forward has made his feelings towards longtime rival Cristiano Ronaldo clear.

Neymar’s high-profile transfer to Saudi club Al Hilal will see him go against his rival and Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo.

Now, after his move to the Gulf side, the 31-year-old football player has lauded Cristiano Ronaldo for making a way for Saudi football and its transformation.

After the Brazilian sealed a deal with Al Hilal, many questioned his decision for moving to the Middle East which Ronaldo also faced when he joined Al Nassr in January.

The Portuguese superstar’s transfer to Saudi led to many big players including Karim Benzama, N'Golo Kante, Marcelo Brozovic, Ruben Neves, Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane, and more doing the same.

Al Hilal shared a video on their X account (formerly Twitter) which saw the Brazil superstar explaining the influence that the Portuguese player’s move had on Saudi Pro League.

Neymar has praised Cristiano Ronaldo following his Al Hilal transfer and has called out everyone for saying the 38-year-old was “crazy”.

“I believe Cristiano Ronaldo started all of this,” the 31-year-old player said in the video, “everybody called him crazy.”

Neymar also said that he is “thrilled” to meet players from other teams including Ronaldo, and Benzema.

The Brazilian sealed a move to the Saudi side Al Hilal on a two-year deal. He will reportedly be presented at the club’s stadium in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
