Mashable: Google Play Store is reportedly in the process of developing a new feature aimed at improving the app installation experience. This feature, referred to as 'auto-open', is designed to automatically launch applications on Android smartphones immediately after they are installed from the Play Store, thereby removing the necessity for users to search for the apps manually.

This development follows a recent update that allows for the simultaneous downloading or updating of up to three applications.

According to a report by Android Authority, in collaboration with the tipster Assemble Debug, details regarding this potential feature have emerged, hinting at an official announcement in the near future.

The feature was initially reported to be undergoing testing in a prior version of the Google Play Store back in June. The latest findings were reportedly uncovered through an APK teardown of the Google Play Store app version 42.5.15, and it is currently not accessible to the general public.

A video released by the media outlet displays a countdown timer lasting five seconds in the notification drawer prior to the app launching automatically. This feature is reportedly activated by a new option labeled Automatically open after install, which can be found beneath the Install option on the Google Play Store.

Upon the completion of the app's download and installation, the feature initiates the opening process automatically. Users have the ability to disable this feature through a toggle option. Additionally, the report suggests that this feature may soon be available to all Android smartphone users.

Furthermore, it has been reported that the Google Play Store now permits users to download as many as three applications or app updates simultaneously on Android devices, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency of the process. This development builds on the functionality that Google introduced in April, which allowed for two concurrent downloads.
