Sky Sports News has been recognised for its coverage of Transfer Deadline Day at the annual SJA British Sports Journalism Awards.

Some of the best-known names in British broadcast sports journalism were in contention for the Best Broadcast Production team award, including the Sky Sports Boxing production team.

The judges described Deadline Day on Sky Sports News as "addictive viewing and strong journalism" over 19 hours of live coverage. They also praised the channel for its analysis and use of technology.

Sky Sports News presenters Jim White and Hayley McQueen were joined by Sky Sports News executive editor Andy Cairns to collect the award on Monday.

Phil Barker, chairman of broadcast judges, said ahead of the awards ceremony: "This has been without doubt the most competitive field in across all categories since we launched the SJA Broadcast categories."
