Mashable: US electric flying carmaker Archer has collaborated with the UAE-based aviation services operator Falcon Aviation to build vertiports

Vertical airports will soon be built in the UAE city of Dubai and Abu Dhabi for flying cars.

UAE’s dream to see and travel in flying cars is coming to life as soon as 2025.

According to the Khaleej Times, the United Arab Emirates is gearing up for flying cars, which will operate entirely over the water with vertiport coming soon in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The US electric flying carmaker Archer has collaborated with the UAE-based aviation services operator Falcon Aviation to build vertiports aka vertical airports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. These vertiports will be connected using Archer’s Midnight. The flying car is a piloted four-passenger aircraft that is designed to perform rapid back-to-back flights.

As per the news outlet, the first vertiport will be built at Falcon Heliport at Dubai’s Atlantis the Palm and the Marina Mall heliport in Abu Dhabi’s Corniche. This move will cut down a 60–90-minute car commute to an estimated 10-30-minute electric air taxi flight.

Besides being safe, low noise, and cost-competitive with ground transportation, the flying cars will give passengers scenic views of the two cities – Dubai and Abu Dhabi as well as the Arabian Sea.

Meanwhile, the vertiports will be built before the launch of the flying car between Dubai and Abu Dhabi in 2025. This exciting and futuristic venture is also set to be the very first international launch of Archer.

Adam Goldstein, founder and CEO of Archer, said, “We look forward to paving the way for the introduction of our Midnight aircraft to the region which will set the stage for the UAE to become a global leader in urban air mobility.”

The two emirates will be home to Archer’s first international midnight flights as soon as 2025.
