UBMS, a Dubai-based broadcast technology distributor and systems integrator, has appointed Paul Vickerage as its new managing director.
Vickerage, who started his new role in mid-January, is a broadcast professional with 30 years’ experience in the industry.
Speaking to Digital Studio, Vickerage said: “I’m looking forward to leading UBMS to the next level of excellence. I’ll be working closely with our existing partners and looking to forge new partnerships and seek new business ventures.”
Vickerage added that he is also keen to explore more international opportunities. “One of my main tasks is to reinforce UBMS as an international player rather than it being a regional powerhouse.”
While UBMS is perhaps best known for its distribution business, it also has a healthy and growing system integration business, and Vickerage sees strong potential in this area.
“System integration is an area where there are some really good opportunities for a company like UBMS. Geographically we are pretty big in parts of Africa and I would like to see us become bigger.”
He added that the company would consider opening up a presence in Africa to help support broadcast projects there.
