It has recently come to light that WhatsApp is restoring the green colour notifications for its Android beta app.WhatsApp had announced a new dark blue colour in notifications a few days back in the 2.21.12.12 beta update. However, the instant messaging platform is now restoring the old colour again.
The feature has been reported by WABetaInfo, a popular website that keeps track of new updates in WhatsApp. It states that WhatsApp was bringing small changes to the UI and colours in the previous updates. It also started to get rid of the line separators in the list of your chats. Furthermore, WhatsApp had also changed the colour of push notifications. However, it seems like the new blue colour wasn’t appreciated much by users and WhatsApp has now decided to restore the old green colour.
The report states that “WhatsApp has reverted the changes, restoring the old green colour. What is the reason? Some users complained that the new colour wasn’t correctly visible in the notification, due to its contrast: probably WhatsApp has listened to the feedback, restoring the green colour”.
In other WhatsApp related news, it has recently come to light that WhatsApp is working on a ‘Flash Call’ feature in Android 2.21.11.7 beta update that will verify user log-in on WhatsApp via a ‘flash call’ instead of the usual 6-digit verification code. This will let users log in to their WhatsApp account quickly and safely. The feature will be available in a future update and is currently under development. The ‘flash calls’ feature, however, won’t be implemented on WhatsApp for iOS.
