Mashable: WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is currently developing a functionality that will prevent iOS users from capturing screenshots of profile pictures. A notification message will be displayed on the screen, as seen in the shared screenshot by WABetaInfo, informing users about the restriction in order to safeguard everyone's privacy on the application.

Based on the report, this feature will provide an additional level of privacy safeguard by preventing users from capturing and sharing profile pictures without the owner's permission.
According to the report, although individuals can still capture the image using alternative devices or cameras, implementing a restriction on the screenshot function within the app will effectively diminish the unauthorized dissemination of profile photos.
This feature on WhatsApp will prove beneficial in mitigating the potential misuse or unauthorized distribution of profile photos by preventing users from capturing screenshots.
In the meantime, WhatsApp is said to be experimenting with a fresh function that will provide users with a specialized "filter" to promptly view a compilation of their preferred chats from the chats section on Android. Through this innovative chat filter, users will have the ability to conveniently reach and organize particular discussions with their preferred contacts and groups.
WhatsApp is rolling out two new features to beta testers on iOS, enhancing the capabilities of the popular messaging platform. The first feature makes it easier to zoom in while using the in-app camera on WhatsApp. Meanwhile, the second feature allows users to quickly create new stickers from their Camera Roll or use Meta AI to generate stickers through convenient shortcuts.
