WhatsApp has announced that Voice over Internet Protocol aka voice calls are coming to KaiOS devices.
WhatsApp users on KaiOS devices, prime examples being the super popular JioPhone and JioPhone 2 will now be ready to make voice calls using Wi-Fi or mobile data. The new feature is possibly the most important update during a while for WhatsApp on KaiOS.
Voice calls on WhatsApp are going to be available with the newest version 2.2110.41 of the app. The update also requires a minimum of 512MB RAM on the KaiOS device. WhatsApp will show a notification of the new update on existing KaiOS devices. Users will need to accept the update notification to activate the new feature. for brand spanking new KaiOS devices, voice calls are going to be included within the latest version of WhatsApp that comes pre-installed.

WhatsApp was launched on KaiOS back in mid-2019 and comes with all the essential features that the messaging app offers. Aside from chats, users also can share media like photos and videos, contacts and site. Users also can share voice messages on WhatsApp, a feature that's widely employed by KaiOS users.
WhatsApp’s Joe Grinstead revealed last year that the popular chat app has begun work on bringing the ‘Status’ feature for its KaiOS app. With this feature, WhatsApp users on KaiOS are going to be ready to share photos and videos that last for twenty-four hours as their Status. Grinstead added that more features are being worked on for WhatsApp on KaiOS.
