We all would have faced a situation where we wanted to send an important video to someone on WhatsApp, but due to its built-in image or video compressing tool, the quality gets reduced as well.
However, this inconvenience will soon be over, as the messaging company is reportedly working on a new feature that will allow users to share high resolution videos with their friends and family.
As reported a screenshot shared by the WABetaInfo, the new feature will give users the option to choose if they want to send “Best Quality” videos to others or want to save data by compressing it.
The screen shot reveals that there will be three options, including Auto, Best Quality, and Data Saver. The Auto option will decide itself, and will automatically detect the best compression algorithm for specific videos.
The best quality option will retain the video quality, while the ‘Data saver’ option will compress the video to save data and reduce bandwidth.
The feature is still under development, and it is not known when it will be released in the stable version of the mobile application.
This new feature will come in handy to thousands of users who want to share high quality videos with their contacts, as WhatsApp, currently does not allow users to select the quality of videos before sharing them with their contacts.
