Mashable: Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, made the announcement in a post, stating that users will soon be able to switch between two accounts within the WhatsApp app on a single phone.

WhatsApp, owned by Meta, has recently introduced a new feature that allows users to have two WhatsApp accounts logged in simultaneously.

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, made the announcement in a post, stating that users will soon be able to switch between two accounts within the WhatsApp app on a single phone.

This feature will be gradually rolled out to Android users in the upcoming weeks and months. The company emphasized that this update eliminates the need to log out and log in repeatedly, carry multiple phones, or worry about sending messages from the wrong account.

To set up a second account, users will require a second phone number and SIM card, or a phone that supports multi-SIM or eSIM functionality.

To add a second account, users can simply access their WhatsApp settings, click on the arrow next to their name, and select "Add account."

The company assures users that they can manage their privacy and notification settings separately for each account. Additionally, WhatsApp advises users to only use the official app and avoid downloading counterfeit or fake versions to ensure the security and privacy of their messages.

In another recent update, WhatsApp announced the introduction of a password-less passkey feature for all Android users. This feature aims to enhance security and convenience by eliminating the need for insecure two-factor SMS authentication.

Android users will be able to securely log back into their WhatsApp accounts using passkeys, which can be unlocked using facial recognition, fingerprint, or a PIN. The company plans to roll out this feature gradually over the next few weeks and months, allowing users to replace traditional passwords with their device's authentication methods.
