Mashable: The upgrade makes WhatsApp function identically like Messenger on mobile devices in terms of emoji reactions.

According to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook post, WhatsApp users will soon be able to react to messages with any emoji. It happens only a few months after WhatsApp gave the option to respond with a set of only six emojis.

Just a few months ago, WhatsApp introduced emoji reactions with six options; however, it has since increased that number to include the complete emoji alphabet. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, "We're rolling out the option to use any emoji as a reaction on WhatsApp,"

Last week WABetaInfo revealed that the ap was beta testing more reactions for a limited number of users.

Emoji replies are a wonderful method to keep messages short and to quickly tell the sender of a joke whether you found it humorous (or not). Long-press on a message to receive a complete list of available emojis, then tap the Plus button to the right to use any of them as a reaction. Select the one you want, and it should then appear beneath a message in the usual manner.
