The beginning was in September 1948 from Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and in 1950 the radio became the name that it now bears, “Radio of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.” In 1956 a second station was established inaugurated by His Majesty the late King Hussein bin Talal in Jabal Al Hussein in Amman. July 11, 1966 The foundation stone for the television building was laid, and Jordanian television switched to the color system as the first Arab station in 1974. The merger between radio and television was achieved in 1985 with the promulgation of the Law on the Radio and Television Corporation.
