Al Alam Newspaper
Al-Alam is a Moroccan daily speaking for the Istiqlal Party, and it is the oldest Arabic-language Moroccan newspaper that continues today. It was established by the Independence Party on September 11, 1946, and it was distinguished at the time as the most militant newspaper against the colonialists. As a result, it was subjected to widespread arbitrariness of censorship, either by seizing or deleting articles. It was also the tongue of the united Moroccan opposition until the National Union of Popular Forces seceded from the Independence Party. It remained an opposition newspaper until the time of the Independence Party's participation in the Osman government in 1977.
