Chimes is the official student newspaper of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich. Its mission is to serve the community of Calvin College in a variety of ways: we aim to reform, review, challenge and foster dialogue within the community. Founded in 1907, Chimes began as a monthly publication focused more on literary review and writers than on reporting news. In the 1940s, Chimes became a weekly print newspaper.
