Cobouw is an independent Dutch weekly magazine for the construction industry with a circulation of more than 7,000 copies. The magazine is aimed at readers who have a professional relationship with the construction, such as project developers, designers, policymakers, clients, consultants, financiers, suppliers and anyone else who has to deal with implementation. From June 1, 1857, the forerunner of Cobouw was published by TCB ten Hagen under the name Advertisement Sheet for the sale of movable and immovable property. The magazine consisted of four pages and was published every Monday. The subscription price was four guilders per year. An editorial contribution did not include the advertising magazine, but in May 1874, under the heading 'Countrymen', an appeal was made to give money to a victim of an accident at work. In this accident, 27-year-old Corneelis Vermeere lost both hands and a leg. In this time there was little attention to safety in the construction industry and victims could not claim anything. This publication changed that. How it ended with the victim is not known.
