Country Smallholding is the biggest-selling magazine for smallholders in Britain and we are passionate about all aspects of self-sufficiency and 'the good life'.The magazine is owned by Archant, one of Britain's biggest media groups. It is the successor to Practical Self-Sufficiency which was launched by Katie Thear way back in 1975. Katie, along with others such as John Seymour, was a pioneer of the self-sufficiency movement.These days Country Smallholding is produced by a small team from Archant's office in Barnstaple.
