The Tunisian General Labor Union is an independent Tunisian trade union organization that was founded on January 20, 1946, during the conference held at the Khaldounia School. Its first office included the leader, Farhat Hashad (assassinated by the French colonialist on December 5, 1952), a general clerk, and Sheikh Muhammad al-Fadil bin Ashour as president.
