Elisabeth is a magazine that wants to tell people about God's love and its meaning for everyday life. Elisabeth Keller was a well-to-do lady who for years engaged in social and evangelistic activities in Zeist and the surrounding area. Through personal conversations and letters she testified of the message of the Bible. At her death, she left several million guilders. Her widower, the pharmaceutical manufacturer Andries Mijnhardt(1878-1973), decided (in 1929 in Zeist) to continue the evangelization work of his wife by means of a monthly magazine that he gave her name. The magazine was sent free of charge to several thousand addresses in the Netherlands in the early years. The distribution has been provided for some decades by volunteers and takes place in care institutions, prisons and the like.
