On July 23, 1989, Mamdouh Mahran, with a Cypriot license, established the weekly "Al-Naba" newspaper, as the first Egyptian newspaper issued by an Egyptian with a foreign license to obtain the right to print and distribute in the Arab Republic of Egypt. And the first issue of them was published on December 31 of the same year. In January 1996, Mamdouh Mahran established the "National News for Publishing" as the first Egyptian joint stock company to issue the first independent weekly Egyptian newspaper, which would be turned into a daily according to the provisions of the company's articles of association, under the name "The National News". The first number of them was published on the first of May 1996.
