Getsurrey.co.uk news website has grown out of a newsroom that has served the county for more than 150 years.The Surrey Advertiser newspaper launched in 1864 and has remained the paper of record from its headquarters in Guildford.Over the years the paper has incorporated titles including the Surrey Times and the Surrey Herald.In 2008 the Surrey Advertiser website became Get Surrey and it has grown to become the leading news source for the county and the wider area.The print edition covering the majority of the county is now supplemented by the Surrey Mirror, the Dorking and Leatherhead Advertiser, and the News & Mail series on the Hampshire border.
